Grade 9 “Tech.” is your 1st Step:

 

Integrated Technology in Grade 9:

Students will be exposed to integrated technologies through the use of:     

  • Computers

  • Small tools

  • Power tools

  • Communication tools

After researching and designing, students will develop, test and build:

  • An electronic logic board

  • A solid fuel rocket

  • A model bridge.

The students will be exposed to all areas of technology.

 

   

Technology in Grades 10, 11 and 12:

 

Communications Technology

 

“Hollywood North”??? … Develop the skills that you need!

 

This course emphasizes communications technology with a wide range of activities including:

  • Advertising

  • Video production

  • Editing

  • Animation and photography

All video production activities throughout the school.

Construction & Manufacturing Engineering Technology


The Housing Market is booming…Will you be ready?

This course requires students to:

Explore construction and manufacturing careers design, build and evaluate projects using construction and manufacturing equipment, industrial machines and hand tools.  

Resources:

  • Wood and engine lathes, drill, mills,

  •  Planer, jointer, saws, MIG and arc welders, metal saws, and round and flat bar benders.

     

 

Hospitality (Tourism)

   


Careers in the food industry…is huge!

This course emphasizes the scope of the hospitality industry.

Students will study:

  • Food origins

  • Food handling techniques

  • Food preparation

  • Health and safety standards

  • Use of specialized tools

  • Modern cooking equipment

They will also develop effective communication and management skills, and identify career opportunities within the hospitality and tourism industry.

This course requires students to design and develop innovative products.
