Pre-placement In-School classes: Calendar is posted in D2L
Why Co-op?
Cooperative education offers students the opportunity to apply and refine the skills and knowledge they have learned in the classroom. While extending their classroom learning, students earn credits, gain valuable work experience, make informed career decisions, network with potential future employers and begin training in the apprenticeable trades. Students receive extensive training in Workplace Safety and Accident Prevention in class during pre-placement and integration lessons and at the job site during their orientation. They refine their communication skills by writing cover letters, building resumes and preparing for interviews. Students learn their rights and responsibilities as co-op students under current provincial labour legislation and prepare a learning plan that guides their experiential learning experience throughout the semester.
