Below is a list of all planned courses for next year. The list is organized by department, then grade. Click the desired department to see the list, then click the Course Code or Title to see a description of the course. French Immersion courses are indicated by (FI) in the course name.

 

Science Courses

Science is a compulsory course in grades 9 and 10. After earning grade 9 and 10 credits, students may choose to continue studying science as an elective. The 3 main branches are Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, which can each be studied in the college or university stream. Hover over the titles to learn more about each type of science, and reference the pathways chart to plan your future courses.

    Biology

    Biology is the study of living things, including cell structure, human and animal systems, and plants.

    Chemistry

    Chemistry is the study of matter, including atomic structure, molecules, and reactions.  Some chemistry topics include mathematical calculations.

    Physics

    Physics is the study of various types of energy and forces.  Mathematical calculations are used as a tool to answer physics questions.
