CGF3M1|Forces of Nature
Did you enjoy the natural disasters unit in grade 9 geography? Are you thinking of a career in earth sciences, meteorology or environmental science? Do you want to learn more about earthquakes, volcanoes, hurricanes and tornadoes? In this course we learn about the natural hazards and the natural processes of the lithosphere, atmosphere, hydrosphere and biosphere. Can we predict when a volcanic eruption or an earthquake will occur? Which storm has the strongest wind speeds - hurricanes or tornadoes? Will the Yellowstone supervolcano erupt soon or when will the next “Big Earthquake” hit California? If any of these questions interest you then this course is for you!
CGG3O1|Travel and Tourism
Do you like to travel? Do you want to travel around the world in 94 days? Then CGG3O Travel and Tourism could be for you. In this course you learn about what motivates people to travel to different parts of the world like Australia, Europe, the Caribbean, Asia, South America or Africa. Students will learn about a variety of places and learn about the do’s and don’ts before making a trip, budgeting a trip and learning about cultural customs that every traveler should know before proceeding on their trip.

CGW4U1|Canadian and World Issues
Are you interested in current world events? Are you thinking about a career in environmental issues, politics or demography? Then CGW4U - World Issues is for you. This course helps you prepare for university. We explore issues involving a wide range of topics, including economic disparities between countries, geopolitics, threats to the environment, globalization, populations, human rights, and quality of life. Should everyone have access to clean water, especially in Canada? Is climate change really happening or is it fake news? What is currently happening in the Middle East or Europe? How will the world population change in the future? If any of these questions interest you then take CGW4U next year.
