CHC2D1|Canadian History
Ever wonder about how Canada became the awesome country that it is today? Well look no further, as you'll walk away with this knowledge and a set of key investigative and research skills after taking this course. You'll learn about the World Wars, the economy, Indigenous contributions to our way of life, and so much more. We'll look at it all from the good to the bad to the ugly. As they say, if you don't know history you're doomed to repeat so luckily for you, you won't fall in this category and will have some fun along the way. This course is at the academic level and will focus on developing research, writing, presentation and other communications and critical thinking skills that will help students thrive in senior university level courses in grade 11 and 12.

CHV2O1|Civics and Citizenship
In this 9-week course, you'll be introduced to the Canadian government, our legal system, and the rights you have as Canadian citizens. You will develop fact-checking and critical thinking skills needed to be an informed citizen, and learn the ways that you can get involved to have a positive impact.

CHA3U1|American History
Are you fascinated about our southern neighbour? In this course, we’ll examine the most important aspects of American history with a critical lens. We’ll analyze how major historical events and individuals have contributed to America’s national mythology. You’ll walk away from this course with a much greater understanding of the U.S., its history, and the major events and trends that shape it today.
CHW3M1|World History to 16th Century
In this Ancient World history class we will discover what many Ancient civilizations have handed down to our Modern World. Find out why we do the things we do and what humans have learned along the way since 6000 years ago! Have fun making your own Egyptian artifacts, researching great archaeological discoveries, and trying to solve ancient mysteries.
CLU3M1|Canadian Law
Do you like to discuss and debate current legal, political and social issues? If you do, you will enjoy learning about the Canadian legal system. You will learn about policing, trials, and sentencing. You will have the opportunity to be a detective and solve a murder mystery, and to be a witness or lawyer in a mock law trial. We will look at cases, and current legal issues, and you will broaden your research and analysis skills. This is a great course to take if you are considering a career in policing, as a paralegal or a lawyer!
Grade 12
CHY4C1|World and Western History
You say you want a revolution? Then you’ve come to the right place. This course is a continuation of CHW3M1 World History. We learn about Revolutions but we also look at the Renaissance & Reformation, the Atlantic Slave Trade, the Napoleonic Wars, & the Chinese Opium Wars--just to name a few topics! Broaden your knowledge of foundational events and ideas of the past, while learning essential critical thinking skills to help you succeed in all aspects of life.

CLN4U1|Canadian/International Law
This class builds on topics studied in grade 11 law, such as our criminal law system and the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. It also explores the evolution of legal thought, our Canadian legal heritage, and human rights. Students will examine real case studies and discuss current legal and political issues in Canadian and international law. Students will have the opportunity to sharpen their debate skills by participating in a mock law trial. Since this is a university preparation course, students will develop their research and writing skills.
