Take Our Kids to Work Day is an opportunity for Grade 9 students to explore the world of work, learn about different careers, and gain valuable experiences beyond the classroom. Similar to the last few years, participation is optional. We recognize that access to workplace experiences looks different for every family, and not all students have the same opportunities to participate. With that in mind, regular learning will continue at school, while families who wish to arrange a workplace experience for their child are welcome and encouraged to do so.
If your family chooses to participate, we ask that you arrange the workplace visit directly and contact the school to report your child's absence as parent/guardian-excused.
We will also be working with teachers to ensure students who participate are not disadvantaged by their absence, including avoiding evaluations and key learning activities that would create barriers to participation. Whether students are learning at school or exploring a workplace, we look forward to supporting meaningful learning experiences for all of our Grade 9 students!
